Mental disorders are related to our mental health. Mental health is related to an individual psychological and emotional well-being. So any disturbance in mental health leads to mental disorders. The top 10 most common mental disorders include; Depression, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic disorder, eating disorders, social anxiety disorder, communication disorder, bipolar defects, loneliness, phobias, and anxiety.

All of these mental disorders are explained below;

Depression is a common mental disorder. Depression mainly leads to a loss of interest, excitement, or feelings in daily life activities. A mentally depressed person often has negative thoughts, and they often feel guilty about themselves. Severe depression leads to suicide or suicidal thoughts. Eating Disorders:

Eating disorders are associated with compulsive concerns about weight and unmanageable eating patterns. It leads to unhealthy eating habits that are the major cause of obsession with food. In some examples, complex about body weight, body shape leads to purging behaviour like vomiting or over-exercising. It negatively impacts the physical and mental health of an individual.

This type of common mental health disorder is determined by severe fear in social circumstances. It negatively affects a person’s capability to work accurately in daily life activities. Communication Disorder:

It is one of the top 10 most common mental disorders. In this disorder, there is difficulty in the potential to communicate, use, detect language, and daily life speech. Now researchers have found some communication disorders; language disorder, speech sound disorder, social communication disorder.

Bipolar defects:

It is a most common mental disorder in which there are usually both depressive and manic phases. During panic attacks, a person experiences neurotic occurrence however they do not experience depressive episodes besides it comes in the type of bipolar defects. In this case, people suffering from loneliness find difficulty in explaining how they feel. The symptoms an individual finds in loneliness are; exhausted, unable to focus, difficulty in sleeping, body aches, body pain, and feeling of sickness.

Phobias are different from fears based on regular circumstances because they give rise to exceptional distress, possibly affecting life at home, work, or school. Individuals suffering from phobias avoid phobic objects or situations. Phobias can be concerned with the fear from animals, fear related to heights, thunder, darkness, fear related to blood, injury. People also experience phobias from flying, being in an elevator.


Anxiety is one of the complex’s common mental disorders. While a person is experiencing anxiety they may feel to lose interest in things once they enjoyed them. Symptoms of anxiety differ from person to person, while experiencing anxiety ranges from butterflies in your stomach to an increased heart rate, rapid breathing, trouble in focusing. During an anxiety attack, there are feelings of worry, distress, or fear. Slowly as time passes by anxiety attacks worsen the situation to a more stressful event. Some of the symptoms of an anxiety attack are; shortness of breath, a sensation of dryness in the mouth, sweating, restlessness, and numbness or tingling.
